We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Overturn Pentagon Recovery of Bonuses Paid to California Soldiers to Fight in Iraq or Afghanistan

Created by L.R. on October 22, 2016

Petition Congress to allow the California Guard to forgo recovery of enlistment bonuses paid 10+ years ago.

Background: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/10/22/pentagon-recovers-cash-bonuses-paid...

People in the California Army National Guard acted in good faith when they received enlistment bonuses, fulfilling their enlistment obligations. Ten-or-more years later, the Pentagon is going back to these people and demanding the bonuses be repaid - often at significant financial impact to these people who fulfilled their obligation(s) for which these bonuses were provided.

The California Guard is willing to forgo this repayment, but are legally obligated to not do so. Congress needs to act.
