The 2016 presidential election is a disgrace to American politics and every citizen of our country. Both candidates from the Republican and Democratic side are unfit to hold the title of President and lead our country. Despite the winner being Donald Trump, either candidate's victory would not be a positive step in the governing of our nation and leading the nation through difficult times.
The United States government should take steps to rectify the situation by declaring the election invalid. As a possible solution, President Obama should be given another two years added to his service as president. In that time, the political parties under emergency Federal guidelines should take steps to secure better candidates for our nation's leadership and hold a makeup election in 2018.
