Overturn the Surpreme Court's Ruling to invalidate key parts of the Voting Right's Act in (so far) 9 states.

Created by K.N. on June 26, 2013

"Ruling from deeply divided court will free mostly Southern states from seeking federal preclearance for voting changes, or require Congress to intervene."

In other words, these nine states: Arizona, Texas, Missouri, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, Louisiana., and Alaska. Small parts of California, North Carolina, South Dakota, Florida and N.Y. :(http://www.justice.gov/crt/about/vot/sec_5/covered.php) struck down Section 4 of the Voting Rights act which prevented people from making it unfair or impossible for minority voters to vote. In a historic 5-4 vote, the U.S. Supreme Court got rid of this section in the voting rights act.
