Utah v. Strieff sets a dangerous precedent: Police officers are allowed to use evidence collected during an illegal search and seizure, to incriminate a person of a crime. If of course, the during the illegal search and seizure, the office finds the person has an unrelated warrant out for them.
This kind of ruling only condones illegal police search and seizures.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor and two other Supreme Court Justices disagree with the ruling.
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects,[a] against unreasonable searches and seizures" WITHOUT A SPECIFIC WARRANT.
Please stand up for our right to be free from abusive illegal police searches.
