We suggest that the legal owners of any type of firearm should face felony charges should said firearm be used to commit violence IF the weapon was not found to be secured properly ie locked in a safe, trigger locks, etc.
This should be a fair compromise between people hesitant to let the government infringe upon their second amendment rights and those concerned about gun violence.
Those arguing that responsible gun owners are not responsible for gun violence should have no objection.
