Veterans have opinionated on why Employers do not give a paid day off for Veteran's day or have the option to take the day off without penalty to vacation days. Especially for those companies that publicly state they support Veterans and the military.
I believe to show our gratitude as a nation to those who have served our country should be granted the option by their Employers to have the day off without being forced to use their paid time off. Leave it to the Employers to either give paid or unpaid time off for Veteran's day. These men and women have sacrificed so much that I feel it is an honor to give them something so simple as a day to reflect their time defending this great country and what they mean to us as a society. This sure beats a bumper sticker stating "Support Our Troops".
