Given the acute shortage of registered nurses working in trauma centers and high level emergency departments, A method should be created allowing licensed paramedics with the same number of college health care hours as an RN to be permitted to obtain a national RN license. The measure would help deal with the shortage of nurses and allow paramedics an additional career path.
