We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Pardon all non violent drug offenders serving time in federal prison.

Created by K.M. on November 09, 2016

Because congress failed to enact criminal justice reform I call on you Mr. President to pardon all persons serving time in federal prison for non violent drug related offenses. These include possession, trafficking and any other form of drug related offense that did not include the use of violence or weapons. Many people serving time in federal prison are there under mandatory minimum sentencing of no less than 5 years for simply having drugs. The time does not fit the crime. Rapists and even some murderers are given less time. This is your chance to singlehandedly decrease the prison population that is overwhelmingly comprised of minorities and right a wrong that is perpetrated on mostly the poor and disenfranchised.
