President Obama, in your book you admit to frequently inhaling cannabis in your younger days and even to "a little blow" when you could afford it. Had you been caught and prosecuted you would not have been Senator nor would you have been President. Obviously nonviolent drug offenders do not deserve to be persecuted criminally and if anything, they have a medical problem that deserves compassion and understanding. It is a waste of resources to criminalize tens of millions of Americans and enforce drug laws against them that are disproportionately harsh on the most vulnerable. These laws tear families apart and only serve to enrich those in the business of law enforcement. Please issue a presidential pardon for every nonviolent drug offender in the federal system as soon as humanly possible.
