There are literally thousands of people whose only crime and conviction was for personal marijuana use. Now, 2 states have made it legal. Many other states make it legal to purchase and use marijuana for medical reasons. It is not fair nor just to punish people for what was then a crime but is not now a crime in many states. Second, it costs too many tax payer dollars to incarcerate and monitor parolees and probationers because they were convicted of possession of marijuana. Finally, many thousands of people's lives are ruined personally because of spending time in prison and financially because of having a felony conviction on their record. So, pardon all persons convicted of possession of marijuana.
