Despite David Petraeus down fall, we still need a competent person who can do a great job as Secretary of Defense. David Petraeus would be the perfect man for the job because not only was he an experienced commanding officer, his merits in the last few years cannot be compared to all other nominees.
We are still at war with terrorism, we need a war general to end it. I am confident that Patraeus can do the job. On top of that, we need his knowledge for our future defense policies to deter against future threats against America.
Obama got his second chance, why not the same for Petraeus? This petition was written for the sake of our future. If there are any Americans out there who still have a conscience, give the man a second chance and let him redeem himself from his shame.
