Chelsea Manning should be lauded as a hero, not only for bearing the difficulties of being a transgender member of the military, but for shining sunlight on the war crimes committed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
To quote Whitehouse.gov, this very site, "Transparency promotes accountability and provides information for citizens about what their Government is doing. Information maintained by the Federal Government is a national asset. ... Executive departments and agencies should harness new technologies to put information about their operations and decisions online and readily available to the public."
The actions of Manning and Wikileaks followed your ideals for transparent government. We demand a full pardon for PFC Manning and the halt of any attempts to prosecute Julian Assange.
