President Obama promised Americans that government whistleblowers would have better protection under his administration, yet CIA veteran John Kiriakou is going to federal prison as a scapegoat for exposing the CIA's illegal torture program during the George W. Bush Administration -- interrogation tactics which have been roundly rejected by average Americans, military experts, and the international community alike.
We the people believe the President is not serious about whistleblower protections, and dishonors Mr. Kiriakou's contributions to his country by allowing him to go to prison while those who blatantly violated international law and the Geneva Convention are protected.
If the President is serious about whistleblower protections, he must pardon John Kiriakou immediately.
