On behalf of his family, please pardon Cooper Van Huizen, a 16-year-old sentenced to 15 years in a maximum security prison for his role in a home evasion.
He was originally given a plea bargain that would have resulted in less than 200 days of jail time, which Van Huizen accepted, but the plea bargain was changed, and he is now in the prison system.
Other, older teens involved in the same case were sentenced to far shorter (less than one year) terms.
