pardon Don Siegelman. He was convicted under a law so vague any candidate is "at risk of being tried and convicted..."

Created by D.G. on July 31, 2012

By all accounts, Don Siegelman is the victim of a politically motivated prosecution for nothing more than accepting a campaign contribution, and subsequently nominating the donor to a position he was quite qualified to fill -- a non-paying posit hospital regulatory board.
If that is a felony, every president who has appointed a contributor to be an ambassador should be in jail.
The process under which Siegelman was convicted stinks out loud of being a politically motivated pogrom. The Supreme Court's unwillingness to review his case is not surprise considering the political influence that court has amply shown since 2000.
It is time to right a wrong. Pardon Don Siegelman. The idea that he should go back to jail when Scooter Libby never served a day is absurd.
