Every year people from around the world use the ESTA system to travel to the United States for short stays. An ESTA visa allows a foreign visitor to stay in the country for 90 days or less. Overstaying past the 90 days means the visitor is unable to ever use the ESTA system again, regardless of whatever circumstances lead to the overstay.
We ask that the Obama administration forgive these past violations provided the overstay is less than 6 months. It is a victim less and minor offense and a total ban is an excessive punishment. Many relatives of US citizens who made an honest mistake in the past just want to be able to visit friends and relatives for a short time and return to their country of origin. This petitioner humbly asks that President Obama provide these people a pardon.
