Pardon John Brown (1800-1859) for his raid on the federal armory at Harper's Ferry, West Virginia

John Brown, the American Abolitionist, believed his actions at Harper's Ferry were in keeping with the American spirit - the freedom for all people in the land. It has been 154 years since his hanging and John Brown has not been pardoned.
The time is now for a federal government pardon of John Brown, his sons, and fellow comrades in arms for their failed insurrection at the federal armory in West Virginia. His actions, although illegal at the time, were the spark that catch a fire called the Civil War.
As the South reentered the union, the goal was "with malice towards none and bind up the nation's wounds". It is about time that the same pardon be extended to John Brown and his band of brothers. His raid was considered to be the first battle cry of freedom in the United States
