Leonard Peltier was convicted for the murder of 2 federal agents without evidence, due process, and continues to be imprisoned 37 years later despite serving his sentence in full.
This "crime" occured on the Pine Ridge Reservation while members of AIM were trying to protect citizens of the Oglala Sioux Nation from BIA backed henchman who had already murdered dozens of human beings for politcal control in effort to establish gambling business there.
The main witness who testified in court that Peltier was the shooter admitted her testimony was coerced under duress by the FBI. There are many other doubts of his guilt that have not been considered as well.
This man's incarceration is just another stain on the face "justice" and a crime in and of itself by the US government.
