Pardon Marc Emery without assistance from the Department of Justice

Created by J.E. on November 18, 2011

The White House response to the petition titled "Pardon Marc Emery." is not acceptable.

Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution gives the President the authority to grant "Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States." For more than 100 years, Presidents have relied on the Department of Justice and its Office of the Pardon Attorney for assistance in the exercise of this power. However, the President CAN pardon without this assistance.

The people of the United States demand the release of Marc Emery. RELEASE HIM NOW!
