Marissa Alexander is currently in prison for defending herself and her children from her abusive husband. She faces a minimum of 20 years, though she hurt NO ONE.
She had a restraining order against her husband which he had broken before.
Unlike George Zimmerman who ignored the police advice to get back in his car and leave and instead ended up killing someone.
The judge told Marissa that she could have left. She didn't hurt any one. She wsn't allowed to use the stand your ground defence that worked so well for Mr. Zimmerman.
Her punishment came about because of an absurd minimum sentencing law that gave the judge no choice in her sentence.
She deserves to be pardoned.
