We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Pardon non-violent drug offenders in federal custody

Created by R.C. on November 14, 2016

Please pardon all non-violent drug offenders in federal custody.

Drug laws are explicitly racist in their development, and they've been systematically racist in their implementation and enforcement. Furthermore, prisons are incredibly costly.

Freeing the people who are imprisoned under these unfortunate laws, and who not caused harm to anyone but themselves would take millions of dollars out of the Prison Industrial Complex. It would also be an enormous kindness to those individuals, those individuals, their families, and their communities. This would be a powerful legacy to leave that cannot be reversed.
