Ontario has been incarcerated for the past 16 years, for a crime he did not commit. The jury was not a jury of his peers, the Public Defender did not prepare herself or her client for the case. She simply advised "throw yourself on the mercy of the court". She was later deemed incompetent, and the family was advised that she shouldn't have been assigned to the case. The prosecutor admitted evidence, and stated that he was not willing to say where he got it from; he also went on to tell the media that he wanted to make an example of the case for those that come after. Ontario has received more time than someone who has committed a murder. With that in mind my family and I would like for you to commute or pardon my brother's sentence. He has been away from his children for far too long.
