Bradley Manning is a whistle-blower, the same protections that are afforded to others who testify and bring light to corruption and misconduct of other institutions and organizations should be afforded to Mr. Manning. It is outrageous that an American who shed light on the misconduct of our military is being persecuted. Bradley Manning had pure intentions when releasing the documentation of the misconduct by our military in foreign countries. This is setting a dangerous precedent for the future of healthy dissent in our democracy. How can citizens participate effectively and demand accountability of their leaders and their government, when so much information is held in secrecy? We must demand that our leaders drop charges against Bradley Manning for the sake of democracy and justice.
