On September 12, 2016, the Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton published a libelous article on her website, misrepresenting a simple frog as a symbol of white supremacy and nationalism. The media outrage over such a pure animal culminated in the Anti-Defamation League's September 27 decision to declare this frog a symbol of hate, comparing it to the Nazi swastika or the white power logo. That frog is our friend Pepe, however, and we know more about his character than these misguided and unfair acts toward him. We know Pepe as a calm, kind soul, a bringer of joy, happiness, cheer, and laughter to those who ask. We know Pepe as a humanitarian, a compassionate frog and a loyal friend. Please, pardon Pepe and give him the justice he so truly deserves. Thank you for your time.
