Eight Million adoptable pets are euthanized each year. That's 22 thousand daily! Yet the demand for pets keeps thousands of breeders in business at the same time. Part of the issue is awareness. A shelter/rescue dog of any breed, size, age, and temperament is available somewhere in the US that can fulfill the wildest pet wish, We're not against breeders. Most are honest, competent, caring people. Most do not breed until they know their pups will be adopted and most would agree with this petition,
A public presidential pardon of shelter/rescue dog at imminent risk of being euthanized would bring attention to this issue and possibly lead to saving thousands of lives. The dog would naturally be adopted almost immediately with an accompanying presidential seal!
A cat pardon would be good.
