Please pardon Rod Blagojevich, former Governor of Illinois. Even though he was found guilty by a jury of his "peers," the sentence given does not fit the crime. Many businessmen and politicians have been guilty of worse crimes and sentenced to far less punishment. His sentence is cruel and unusual. His young daughter will go through her more formidable years without her father beside her, merely because a judge decided to make an example of Mr. Blagojevich. This harsh sentence of 14 years in prison could very well destroy his family, and that is a punishment that is definitely far greater than the crime.
