Ross Ulbricht is the founder of the Silk Road, an informal internet market. In 2015, a federal judge sentenced Ulbricht to two life terms in prison. This is a sentence far more severe than that of many murderers and rapists. Ulbricht was not convicted for drug dealing, nor possession. The weight of his sentence is merely for creating and running the market for which illicit drugs were traded. What Ulbricht did demonstrates tremendous intelligence and talent. His skills are wasted in prison.
