We petition the Obama administration to grant a pardon to Seamus Andrew Maguire, who has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for the sale of marijana. No physical evidence exists of most of the quantity for which he was charged. Despite the lack of evidence, lack of any criminal history and lack of any victims, Seamus is being taken from his family and home and work for a sentence term longer than some individuals serve for violent crimes or child abuse. His case is an example of the enormous failure of our justice system; this petition seeks justice for Seamus and will begin to chip away at the nonsense that comprises our current marijuana legislation.
