Long-time peace activists Sr. Megan Rice, 82, Greg Boertje-Obed, 57, and Michael Walli, 63, broke into the Oak Ridge Y-12 nuclear weapons production facility and trespassed onto the property in order to commit an act of civil disobedience. They intended to hurt no one and were looking to be arrested in order to make a statement. Instead, they managed to get further inside than they expected because of lax and inept security.
The "Justice Department" and "Homeland Security" have thrown every book at them they can and have convicted them of terrorism, changing a 1-year misdemeanor sentence into a 35-year effective life sentence.
This is a perversion of justice. They embarrassed Homeland Security and no more.
President Obama should pardon these three people, vacating their sentences.
