We implore the Obama Administration to pardon Tommy Ward and Karl Fontenot who are currently serving life sentences. These two men were wrongfully convicted in the 1984 murder of Denice Haraway in Ada, Oklahoma. No physical evidence has ever linked them to the murder, but both were coerced into giving a false confession. Their confessions were full of inconsistencies including the location of the murder, the weapon used in the murder, and the individuals involved in the murder. Another innocent man, Ron Williamson, was convicted for murder a few years earlier in Ada due to a coerced confession but was exonerated through DNA evidence.
Please take this small step towards rectifying this grave miscarriage of justice.
