Pardon Weev (Andrew Auernheimer), recently incarcerated for a perceived violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse act.

Andrew Auernheimer was recently sentenced to 41 months of jail time under the Computer Fraud and Abuse act for revealing to the media and ATT a loophole within their security. Auernheimer (also known as Weev) discovered that by changing one digit at the end of a publicly available URL, one could access Private information hosted on ATT servers. This was a big red flag to him, so doing what any reasonable person would do, he let them know. There was no hacking involved, no subversion or fraud, this was changing one number in the address bar of a web browser. He was unfairly charged with fraud and unauthorized access under an extremely vague and outdated computer law from 1984 (because computers are TOTALLY the same as t hey were in 1984)
