Each year men across the world participate in Movember (www.movember.com) by growing a mustache for the month of November and then raising funds for The Movember Foundation. The Movember Foundation supports cancer research for prostate and testicular cancer here in the US and raises awareness of these deadly diseases.
To highlight the importance of what we are doing, take a look at these statistics:
- 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime
- This year 242,000 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed
- This year 8,290 men will be diagnosed with testicular cancer
