The Death Star has the military might to destroy planets, and as such, should be constructed to help the defense of the world. Once built, the world would have the ability to put all fears of an steroid crashing into the Earth, and an alien invasion, to rest.
George Lucas, creator of Star Wars, and more importantly, the Death Star, he and a huge team of architects and engineers would be able to produce designs for, and eventually begin working on, a major global defense.
