When the current size of the United States House of Representatives was reached in 1929, the population of the United States was somewhere around 100 Million People. Since then, the population of the United States has more then tripled and yet the size of the House has not grown to reflect this change.
This petition seeks to ask the President and Congress to come up with a more equitable number of representatives for this growing a dynamic population as well as a non-partisan system for adding and/or subtracting seats from each state every 10 years at the conclusion of the U.S. Census.
Doing so would make congress more tuned to the people, as well as increase district competitiveness and voter turnout, while suppressing excessive campaign contributions and undue lobbying influence.
