pass and enact Senate Bill 5420 to create a two-year freeze on tuition rates at four-year universities.

Created by P.P. on February 21, 2013

If education is the key to success, how can anyone afford it with these skyrocketing tuition rates? Senate Bill 5420 would allow a two-year freeze on tuition rates at four-year institutions . Over the years, tuition rates have dramatically increased without a pit stop and financial aid has not been fulfilling its duties to keep up with these increased rates. This forces students and families of students to carry the hindrance of covering 67% of costs through tuition that the state should be providing for institutions to cover. Not only has this been placing students in loan debt, it also keeps them from moving forward after college because they owe money for wanting to learn. Maintaining an affordable system of education benefits not only the individual themself, but the society as a whole
