Pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution

After the slowed spending of the Clinton Administration after the end of the Cold War, the government spending of the last 10 years has been unprecedented. If individuals and families have to live within their means, and the government is indeed comprised of "we the people," then it is preposterous that the government can spend for than it takes in at the expense of American workers and businesses. In order to restore faith in the US economy, the government must live within its means! Pass this amendment now.
