Puppy mills must be banned in America! There are nearly 10,000 mills, according to ASPCA, sending nearly half a million puppies to pet stores across the nation every year. These puppies are kept in unsanitary and small wired cages 24/7. They are neglected, and the mothers are bred continuously. In most cases, the puppies are known to have genetic disorders such as epilepsy, liver and heart and eye disease due to excessive amounts of cross-breeding.
Animal Welfare Act was passed in 1966 which forced puppy mill owners to have certifications and be approved in an annual mill checkup. Now, 50 years later, this Act is almost forgotten, and this major problem is being ignored. Please get the attention of the President and the government officials by signing this petition.
Thank you.
