A bill should be introduced to Congress to set aside the funds required to salvage the SS United States. This cruise ship has significant historical value to our country.
The SS United States was completely built in our country and represents the spirit of America. It would be devastating to see her sold for scrap. She is currently in Philadelphia hanging on to every last bit of dignity a remarkable ship like this should have.
We should NOT wait for it to be dismantled or sunk to begin to realize its value to America!
Too many funds are being appropriated for so many projects and initiatives that are not aimed at salvaging history.
