Pass a Budget or No Pay

Created by E.H. on January 19, 2013

The President, Representatives, and Senators, need to show leadership and practice sound fiscal policy. Ordinary Americans are required to have budgets, show up for work, and get the job done.

I propose that if the members of the House, Senate, and the President fail to pass a budget, then they all forfit a proportional amount of their salaries and benefits for the delay. As it is their responsibility to act, they should be the first to lose their pay for not getting the job done.

Furthermore, unless a budget is passed, there should be no raises given to any federal employee, including Congress.
