Pass the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA)

Created by V.L. on November 26, 2012

Approximately 1,000,000 American children are victims of abuse and neglect. The problems of child abuse require a broad and all inclusive approach. The definition of child abuse and neglect needs to be universalized. A variety of different professionals need to be incorporated into the solution for this expansive problem. Currently, countless children are slipping through the cracks of the juvenile system. Perpetrators are getting away with crimes against children while children are not receiving the essential services that they require. Guardians and Social Service workers alike should receive adequate training to aid the minors in their charge.
