This coming election cycle will set records for the most expensive campaigns in history. In order to compete in such an environment politicians are extensively forced to pander to special interests for monetary backing, weakening the direct will of the American people.
We ask the Administration and Congress to pursue serious and comprehensive reform of the campaign finance laws in order to protect the voice of the American people.
Limit the ability of corporations, unions and special interests to spend unlimited and oftentimes anonymous funds on attack ads and on buying out political candidates.
Money should not decide elections, people should decide elections. If money can be separated from the process, both politicians and the American people win.
