We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Pass comprehensive gun law reforms

Created by E.O. on June 13, 2016

The United States stands alone with horrifying statistics--and with the largest mass shooting in U.S. History occurring Sunday, June 11, 2016, Congress cannot sit by idly anymore. It is time to stand up to republicans and the NRA and pass sweeping, national reforms that require universal background checks, licensing and registration for all gun owners, as well as safety training and storage policies. Congress needs to ban AR-15s and assault weapons. America is in a crisis, with almost 1,000 mass shootings since Sandy Hook. Congress needs to react to the gun violence crisis with reforms the way it would any other public health or crime epidemic. Let the Center for Disease Control study gun violence. If Congress will not act, then President Obama should pass an Executive Order.
