I simply suggest reforms be put in place to not allow any federal officeholder to run for reelection unless the federal budget is balanced. In times of war or unusual circumstances this can be averaged over a 3 or 5 yr period. This petition would force our elected leaders to compromise and do what is best for the people because it would force us to agree on revenue increases and/or spending cuts. It would also do away with many earmarks and eliminate waste, pet projects and posturing for reelection the day after the election.
