In 1944, the Korematsu v. The United States Supreme Court Case deemed the internment of over 100,000 of Japanese-American citizens constitutional despite it stripping our fellow citizens of their Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment rights. This was a grave mistake then, but it is even graver now. Trump's spokesperson Carl Higbie has already discussed on national news the creation of a registry of Muslim-American citizens citing the Korematsu Decision as precedent. We can not let this happen again. We can not repeat our past intolerances against innocent members of our communities. Please ratify a constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court decision on this case and protect the rights of innocent people.
