The DREAM Act, or Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors, is an legislative proposal which would provide a pathway to citizenship to certain illegal aliens of good moral character who graduate from US high schools, arrived in the US as minors, and lived in the country continuously for at least five years.
To obtain residency the person in question is required to either complete 1) two years in the military with honorable discharge or 2) two years at a four year institution of higher learning
Without this bill we will lose another class of law-abiding students who have demonstrated a commitment to hard work and a strong desire to be contributing members of our society.
