Mr. President, I've come up with a plan that will gain bipartisan support and would make education costs cheaper and more affordable for Americans. It called the College Tax. Its a small percentage tax that, over time, pays back the money the student loaned, plus interest. The money that is collected by the Untied States is then used to loan to future students.
For example say I make $80,000 a year. For arguments sake, I only make $80,000 the rest of my life. If I pay a 3% college tax every year instead of student loans, the United States will collect at least $108,000 by the time I retire, that's if I never make any more money or if the tax was a bit higher, say 4.2%. That's a guaranteed over 10% in interest on me.
