Pass the Gender Inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act at the Federal level and encourage states and localities to pass similar legislation.
The Employment Non-Discrimination Act is legislation proposed in the United States Congress that would prohibit discrimination in hiring and employment on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity by civilian, nonreligious employers with at least 15 employees.
ENDA has been introduced in every Congress since 1994 (except the 109th).
The only thing that should dictate a person's worth in the hiring or firing process of a business is the merits of their labor. Someones Sexual Orientation and/or Gender Identity/Expression should not be an excuse to fire them.
