We the undersigned, having witnessed the increasing disparities in law enforcement that continue to result in the uneven and unequal treatment of poor people, people of color and young Americans across the nation ask that the president craft and issue an executive order requiring ALL federal, state, county and local policing agencies to adhere to a set of national policing standards.Too often we're told that when we witness bad policing we are witnessing anomalous acts and that law enforcement officers who behave in this manner are "just a few bad apples".However, in keeping with that theory we understand that "one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch".Therefore, we ask that whenever a police officer kills in the line of duty, whether justified or not they must resign from law enforcement.
