The President of the United States should use his positional power and authority to withhold all pay from all elected members of the House of Representatives, the Senate and the White House - for one month - in response to the increasing growth of partisanship and the inversely-related levels of progress the aforementioned parties are achieving. With sequestration and crippling budget cuts on the horizon, the President should acknowledge that those who the People elected to lead this country have so far failed the People and all measures to avoid a government shutdown should be evaluated. After all, it is the People who have the highest probability of living from their cars and/or forgoing a meal for themselves or their children, not those who work in or near the Capitol.
