The Federal Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act (DREAM Act) will assist millions of undocumented immigrants, that were brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents, in obtaining the opportunity to get a college education and become productive citizens. The DREAM Act provides a pathway to citizenship by giving students permanent legal status once the following is met: Serve in the U.S. Military for 2 years or Receive a 2 or 4-year degree from a higher education institution. There are several other requirements including having a "good moral character", age requirements, and must graduate from a U.S. high school. Expanding access to higher education will only help the economy and increase the pool of educated and qualified individuals entering the workforce.
